Authentic Mexican food La Cocina de la Abuela

Tortillas are handmade, ingredients tasted so fresh. Overall, absolutely the best fish and shrimp tacos I've had in the Bay Area. Service was great. Friendly, welcoming, family-run. Definitely a hidden gem.

What a great surprise to find this restaurant right in the heart of downtown Redwood City. The food is simple and authentic and very fresh. Even the tortillas are made to order. Los Mamalones with the breaded steak is sublime, and the pork in the Cochinita Pibil tacos is incredibly tender. What is the most amazing is how affordable it is. The most expensive menu items is $22, and most of their amazing dishes are under $10. Support this great local restaurant!
